Students will explorE

 Color theory, composition and various painting media will be explored through out the semester. Both Painting 1 & 2

Students will explore a variety of subject matter such as:

Landscape

Figure studies

Portraiture

Abstraction

Still life

History, Culture, Political subjects

 

Individuals will learn skills in painting techniques, care of tools and types of paint. They will apply techniques, problem solving and reflective practices throughout the design process.

Students will evaluate and critique their own and others’ art work

We will explore art history and cultural traditions and movements as it relates to painting.  

Upper division students will develop a series of paintings which show versatility in subject matter and media.

They will refine their painting techniques and skills while problem solving, creating expression in their paintings.
